Tiller Murder Suspect Justifies Killing

The anti-abortion activist charged with killing late-term abortion doctor George Tiller has been communicating from his jail cell that such killings are justifiable.

According to The Associated Press, Scott Roeder has been sending anti-abortion pamphlets that laud Paul Hill, who was executed in 2003 for murdering an abortion provider, as an American hero.

The pamphlets include Hill's writings which justify the killing of abortion providers.

One of the pamphlets was sent to Linda Wolfe, a pro-life advocate who told Roeder in an earlier letter that she no longer believes killing abortion providers was justifiable. She tossed the pamphlet, as reported by AP.

Roeder is currently at Sedgwick County jail, charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault. Tiller was shot dead on May 31 at his church in Wichita, Kansas.

Christians and pro-life groups across the country condemned the murder of the notorious late-term abortion practitioner. While Tiller was a target of many pro-life protests, most groups do not justify his killing and have distanced themselves from Roeder.

"While his (Tiller's) actions were inexcusable, they certainly didn't warrant the execution of vigilante justice doled out by a misguided crusader for the unborn," said Dr. Tony Beam, director of the Christian Worldview Center in Tigerville, S.C.

Last month, pro-lifers held a series of prayers for healing in Wichita. They prayed for the Tiller family as well as for the thousands of babies who were aborted at Tiller's clinic. Their petition to God was to end the violence inside and outside abortion clinics.
