Tim Duncan, Wife Amy Duncan Divorce Proceedings? San Antonio Spurs Star Focusing on Miami Heat in NBA Finals First (VIDEO)

Tim Duncan and wife Amy Duncan are set to divorce, according to reports.

San Antonio Spurs star Duncan has been one of the most consistent performers in the NBA over the past 16 years, however, as he prepares for the NBA Finals his private life is coming into the spotlight with rumors of infidelity being reported on numerous publications.

Duncan, 37, and Amy, 35, have been married for 12 years, and first met while both attending Wake Forest University. However, according to reports a divorce case was filed in Bexar County District Court that appears to refer to the couple.

The divorce papers show the couple's initials—T.T.D. and A.S.D. — and also lists the date of their wedding and the birth dates of their two children.

Rumors have claimed that Amy Duncan is the one to initiate the divorce proceedings. The couple was reported to have been going through some difficulties, and it is reported that Tim had wanted to look at things after the NBA season, Deadspin has said. However, it now appears as though Amy could not wait and that she has started proceedings to end things with the NBA star.

Duncan's San Antonio Spurs will take part in the NBA Finals 2013 Championship Series against the Miami Heat beginning on Thursday. That will obviously take up much of Tim's focus, however, it is unknown whether the rumored divorce will have any affect on his performance and prove to be a distraction.

According to the Express-News, the Spurs star grew suspicious of his wife. The publication claims that he hired a private investigator to look into Amy's behavior, although that has not been confirmed by the star.

Amy is then said to have filed for divorce on March 27, claiming their marriage was insupportable because of discord and conflict. She then is rumored to have moved out of their house a month later.

Since then it has been reported that Duncan submitted a counter-filing into court, claiming he was too busy with the NBA season to proceed at this time with a divorce.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Duncan's schedule "is currently making extraordinary demands on him and hopefully will continue to make those demands for the next 30 or so days."
