Tim Tebow Receives $100K for Charity, Gift From Bubba Watson at Celebrity Game
Tim Tebow's weekend of charity was deemed a success, with a $100,000 bid from a Florida couple who wanted to spend the day with the New York Jets quarterback and a special gift from fellow Christian athlete and 2012 Masters champion Bubba Watson.
A Florida couple bid $100,000 to spend a day with the NFL star, which was announced Friday at a gala luncheon used to benefit The Tim Tebow Foundation. Although the names of the couple were withheld from the media, the executive director of Tebow's Foundation told ESPN New York that the bidders planned to spend their time with the quarterback wisely.
"They live in a part of town that has a lot of people in need and a lot of people with a lot of wealth, and she felt like bringing Timmy to her town down there would maybe change the town," said Erik Dellenback, Tim Tebow Foundation's executive director. "It sounds like she's going to have a little event where she brings over some of the kids who are in need and some of the kids who are pretty deserving."

Dellenback said God was working through the couple who made the contribution.
"I got goosebumps thinking about it because that's what the night was. You thought (the bid) was for one reason -- which you worry [because] you think, 'Why is somebody paying $100,000?' -- and then you found out what their motives are and you're just blown away by how God had moved in the room at the time," Dellenback said.
One day after the luncheon, 24-year-old Tebow also hosted a celebrity golf tournament on behalf of his golf foundation. Although a number of celebrities participated in the tournament, Bubba Watson, the 2012 Masters winner, brought the athlete a gift.
Watson brought the number 15 player's badge from the Augusta National, the number of Tebow's jersey, to the NFL player's charity tournament on Saturday.
"I knew I'd see Tim in a week," Watson said. "I told my caddie, I'm going to keep it unopened, and I'm going to hand it to him. I just felt like I should give it to him. It's his football number, and I thought he might want it more now that I won."
Tebow took to his Twitter to thank all who participated in his charity event.
"Thanks to everyone that helped make my foundation's second annual golf tournament a huge success," Tebow tweeted. "Together we will make a difference!"
