In May, at the annual Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies Legislative Leadership Summit, Harris used the f-word during her remarks.

"We have to know that sometimes people will open the door for you and leave it open. Sometimes they won't. And then you need to kick that f— door down," Harris said to a mostly young audience, as quoted by The Associated Press.

Harris immediately followed up with an "excuse my language," while the audience hollered and applauded, reported the AP. The event was live-streamed by the White House.

The Washington Post recently noted that Harris is known "to swear liberally behind closed doors" and that she "ramped up" her profanity usage "after she became vice president."

Harris' Republican opponent Trump made headlines in 2018 for referring to Haiti and other developing nations as "s—hole countries" when meeting with lawmakers.
