Tyrese Shares Bible Verse Psalms 46:10 After Child Abuse Investigation Is Dropped
Tyrese Gibson says he's relying on scripture, meditation and prayers from fans after a tough week filled with a public breakdown concerning allegations of abuse against his daughter.
The 38-year-old singer and "Fast and Furious" franchise actor who goes by the mononym Tyrese was accused of physically assaulting his 10-year-old daughter, Shayla, in August to the point where she couldn't sit down. Court documents and a temporary restraining order were filed by his ex-wife, Norma Gibson, according to People magazine.
Since last week, the entertainer has been transparent about his struggles and even checked into a hospital after court due to chest pains and dehydration. This week, the singer became even more vulnerable in front of fans when he called out "Fast and Furious" co-star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson on Instagram for taking part in a spinoff that would postpone the next installment of the movie franchise.

On Wednesday, Tyrese broke down in tears in a Facebook post where he begged to be reunited with his child after being apart for two months. The entertainer revealed that because of the allegations brought against him he hasn't been able to find work.
"Don't take my baby. This is all I got," he cried in the post. "I've been away from my baby for two months. I just want my baby and no one's listening cause no one's in the courtroom."
Tyrese went on to proclaim his innocence in a part of the message aimed at his daughter's mother.
"I'm at $13,000 a month, what more do you want from me? I don't hate you Norma," he said. "I don't know why you hate me, but I don't hate you. But you just can't wake up on September 11 and accuse me of something I didn't do!"
Before stepping into the courtroom on Thursday a fan prayed over the singer and actor, according to Hip Hollywood.
"While entering the building, a fan not only stopped to embrace the former TGT member with a hug, but proceeded to pray over him," the website reports.
It seems things have turned around for Tyrese since The Blast is reporting that the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services closed its investigation Thursday.
According to People magazine, "Tyrese's rep confirmed that child's services ... would not be seeking criminal charges."
One day later, he posted a video of himself meditating and captioned the video with a scripture.
"'Be still and know that I am God' Psalms 46:10," he wrote. "Now I know first hand what this scripture means."
