Iceland Has Not Lost a Single Game in the Competition

A quarterfinals battle on Sunday night will put Iceland versus UEFA Euro 2016 host, France, in a match that the former hopes to win after defeating England.

Iceland Facing Superpower Hosts

Iceland is aiming to grab the opportunity while the French squad has not yet discovered their best form as reflected in their previous games for Euro 2016. The squad of coach Didier Deschamps had a tough battle versus Ireland but was saved by midfielder Antoine Griezmann.

Comparing the playing form of both teams, the same report highlighted that Iceland is appearing to be the underdogs for the competition, having won every single game they played in the European tournament.

Premiere League Champs

Iceland would fight for the same victory they bagged during the Premier League season. The team's win against England last Monday was one for the books.

"I think I would like it to end like it ended with Leicester City," said Iceland coach Heimir Hallgrimsson. "They played on their strengths and we are trying to play on our strengths."

He added that having the right response to an opponent's play is vital in a game, noting that this was their key in their past match with England.

Crowd Favorite France

On the contrary, Deschamps admitted that the team is not perfect and that it has lapses. However, he claimed that his French players are crowd favorites because of how they play "This team is giving a lot of emotion to the crowd and making everybody fall in love with them," he said.

This will be a challenging match for France and its roster including Griezmann, Olivier Giroud, Paul Pogba and Blaise Matuidi. Iceland is observed to be a motivated and organized team who knows how to learn from their mistakes.
