UFC News 2015: Ronda Rousey Gets New Monster Energy Sponsorship Deal

Ronda Rousey is solidifying her claim as UFC's biggest star with the latest sponsorship deal with Monster Energy. Already boasting sponsorship contracts with Reebok, Buffalo Jeans, and Carl's Jr, the pound-for-pound best female mixed martial artist once again demonstrated that a sport originally for men can actually be dominated by a woman.

Vice president Mitch Covington for Monster Energy's Sports Marketing announced the deal at a press conference. "We are excited to welcome Ronda to our team," he said. He added, "not only is she regarded as the world's most dominant athlete, she also is an inspiration to all as one of the most iconic MMA fighters of all time with her unsurpassed drive, commitment, star power, and worldwide crossover fan based that has made her a true champion." Aside from Rousey, the company also has existing deals with light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier, 145-pound division star Conor McGregor, and Donald Cerrone.

But it does not really come as a surprise that Rousey got this new sponsorship deal because her stock has grown so much in the past couple of years, thanks to several dominating victories against top-ranked and competitive opponents. She also has a part-time acting career, appearing in films like "Furious 7" and the "Expendables 3."

Rousey is no stranger to fame, having been recently declared as the "Best Female Athlete" at the 2015 ESPY's, where she saw beating tennis star Serena Williams. Currently undefeated, the reigning women's bantamweight champion is also one of the highest paid female athletes according to Forbes. The 28-year-old UFC star hasn't tasted defeat nor has been threatened in any of her fights in The Octagon all throughout her career.

She will be defending her title for the seventh consecutive time against former boxing world champion Holly Holm at UFC 193. The fight card will be held in Melbourne, Australia come Nov.15.
