'Vikings' Season 4 News, Spoilers: Series Executive Speaks About King Harald; Episode 5 Details Revealed

Fans were quite baffled over the appearance of a Scandinavian king named Harald, also known as Finehair, in the last moments of last week's episode of "Vikings" Season 4. He made it clear that he wants to rule all of Norway. However, he knows too well that for his plan to work, he needs to overthrow that one big obstacle in the way, King Ragnar himself.

In an interview, series creator Michael Hirst told IGN.com that "If you were to think of Ragnar like on the liberal wing of the viking party, these people are the ultra-right. They have no conscience. They have no sensitivity to people of other religions or faiths."

Hirst, who also served as executive producer in the show, teases that this individuals "are a real threat" for the ageing warrior. It's "an ongoing concern," according to the EP and fans better watch out for these two characters.

As it turns out, Ragnar won't be the only one watching on his back. In a separate interview with Zap2it.com, the showrunner said that the two will also be a threat to Bjorn who, in the last few episodes, was out in the fields proving his worth as the rightful heir to the throne.

But the fans don't have to hold their breath yet if they're expecting a showdown between these two parties.

"The thing is whatever their long-term ambitions are, there's always a short-term objective," Hirst told the media outlet. "In the short-term, it's usually better for them to work together. They can put on hold their ambitions." And what sort of "ambitions" would this be?

Hirst previously told The Hollywood Reporter  that the siblings will join Ragnar in their next raid to Paris.

Before those events happen, "Vikings" Season 4 will return this week with a brand new episode titled "Promise." Spoiler report said that mistrust will loom within the Parisian court while Ecbert rallies his support to Kwenthrith in Mercia. In another development, Lagertha is bearing the child of Kalf. Will there be a wedding coming up in Hedeby?

Find out when "Vikings" Season 4 air this Thursday, Mar. 17, at 10 p.m. on History Channel.
