Tate Springs Baptist Church of Arlington, Texas, has created an Easter egg hunt game through a customized Minecraft game, which they have offered to other churches.

Tate Springs’ Family Pastor Curtis James told The Christian Post in an earlier interview that the game was modified to “avoid some of the scarier aspects of the game,” such as monsters.

“In the server setup you can disable these features to make it just be an open building world like a giant sandbox,” explained James.

“Minecraft as a game is about building things from scratch. You can make it into whatever you want in game, so building the atmosphere you desire is just about getting people in the world and setting them loose on a project.”

James also told CP that he hopes the Easter egg game will be used to help his church “connect with people who wouldn’t normally come to our church, and share Christ with them and follow up and minster to their needs.”

“Our church is a place where families enjoy getting together and living life, and we would love for others to experience that blessing,” he said.
