Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins may not be as good as the best QBs in the league right now, but his most evident attribute is that he is becoming more and more confident with each of the team's wins this season. He has so far thrown 20 TDs and comes with only three interceptions in their most recent games. Aside from Cousins, this team relies heavily on its receiving positions, particularly DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon. Meanwhile, Jordan Reed and rookie Jamison Crowder are expected to contribute.

Washington also has strong and capable veteran players who are going to be handing out team responsibilities to the younger guys after this season. They love to force opponents to make turnovers and perform a lot better when they're down and threatened.

With four consecutive games to boast to a win, the entire organization is just quite excited on how they can make it deeper into the postseason this time.

It may be true that they haven't won against a team with a winning record in the regular season, but it also is worthy of mention that those four games were played on the road. The Vikings and the Seahawks will be their most challenging matchups and it is pretty certain that they're going to be the underdogs. If they reach the second round, that alone will be a great accomplishment. It's just a matter of how long they'd keep everyone surprised with their performance.

Injuries heading into the playoffs

The team saw one of their cornerbacks, Dashaun Philips, go down with an apparent neck injury in Sunday's game against the Cowboys. It is still unclear if he will be available but he was taken to the hospital right after the game to undergo more tests. Also, rookie Kyshoen Jarrett was injured in the same game and might be suffering from a concussion and neck injury. The team is waiting for the results of the MRI.
