'Wherever You Are' Marks Third Day's Highest Charting Debut Ever
Essential Records rock band Third Day made their highest charting debut ever this week, with their latest release Wherever You Are landing at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 200 album sales chart.
The album sold an estimated 63,000 to join superstar acts like Santana, Black Eyed Peas, and Nickleback in this weeks top 10, and besting the latest releases from Rod Stewart and Ashlee Simpson.
Third Days previous project Wire sold 61,000 copies its first week out and entered Billboards Hot 200 at No. 12. The album has achieved nearly Gold status now, selling upwards of 420,000 copies.
In other chart-related news, Third Day's latest single, "Cry Out to Jesus, which has raised more than $195,000 to date for Third Day's hurricane relief campaign, took the top spot this week on the R&R Adult Contemporary Indicator Chart. The single is the band's 22nd No. 1 radio single and is the first single released from Wherever You Are.
Third Day is currently promoting their latest album on an eight-city Stories and Songs mini-tour, which will feature the band in a storytellers type setting, presenting songs new and old, as well as sharing stories and answering questions from fans attending the event.
