Who are the Americans held hostage by Hamas?
Omer Neutra, 22
Omer Neutra, a dual Israeli-U.S. citizen, is believed to still be a captive of Hamas in Gaza.
The 22-year-old was serving as a tank commander when terrorists ambushed him, pulled him out of his tank and took him hostage.
As The Associated Press reported Thursday, the last time his parents spoke to him, Neutra told them that he anticipated that he would have a quiet weekend. Both of the soldier's parents live in New York and learned about the attack after reading the news.
Ronen Neutra and Orna Neutra joined other families of hostages and victims of Hamas for the Wednesday roundtable discussion with the House Foreign Affairs Committee at the Capitol in Washington.
"Unimaginable that we find comfort in the fact that he was taken hostage and not murdered," Neutra's mother said Wednesday. "Fifty-four days since the last sign of life, can you imagine?"
