Will Graham Follows in Billy Graham's Footsteps with Sermon in Kisumu, Kenya

Billy Graham's grandson, Will Graham, preached a message to the people of Kisumu, Kenya almost 53 years after his grandfather did.

The Will Graham Celebration of Peace ran from June 7-9 at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground and featured special guests Everlyne Muthoka and Rosemary Ogonya as well as American soloist Mark Christian.

The three-day event saw more than 21,000 people walk through the doors for the event with 1,350 responding to an altar call to accept Jesus into their lives.

"The only thing that can change Kisumu forever is God," said Graham according to a press release. "There is only one hope for any of us, and that is Jesus Christ. He is the only One able to save you from your situations."

Graham worked with local Christian and civic leaders and also attended a youth soccer tournament He presented a trophy and gave a small sermon.

"From time to time God puts a love and a burden for a specific country on my heart, and Kenya is one of those countries," said Graham of his second trek to the country. "It is an honor for me to be able to visit Kenya and share the eternal hope of Christ with them."

The minister created the event after meetings with local representatives while he was in Nakuru. In the meeting Graham, also looked into future ministry in Tanzania and Uganda.

Graham will be holding two more global events. The first will be in Fukushima, Japan in September 27-29, and in November 1-3 in Udon Thani, Thailand.

Will Graham was named vice president of the Billy Graham Evangelistical Association in 201 and oversees Children and Youth Evangelism Training. He is also executive director of the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove in Asheville, N.C.
