'Winds of Winter' News: Author George R.R. Martin As Anxious As Fans To Get Book Published

Just like the fans, the publishers, and the television company, author George R.R. Martin himself is also pretty much disappointed with the progress of the highly anticipated sixth installment to his widely-popular fantasy book series, "A Song of Ice and Fire," the "Winds of Winter."

Martin once again broke the news, through his Live Journal Blog, that the latest book is still not done.

"…it gave me no pleasure to type those words. You're disappointed, and you're not alone. My editors and publishers are disappointed, HBO is disappointed, my agents and foreign publishers and translators are disappointed... but no one could possibly be more disappointed than me," the celebrated writer said.

In this given situation, it appears that the fate of Jon Snow and the rest of the characters in the hit HBO adaptation of the novel series, "Game of Thrones," will be revealed first in the small screen rather than in the book.

Explaining his shortcomings, Martin revealed that "sometimes the writing goes well and sometimes it doesn't…" More recently, he has been suffering "more bad days than good ones."

By Halloween, he already admitted to himself that he couldn't make it to the deadline.

The original plan was for the 67-year-old to submit the completed manuscript of "The Winds of Winter" by the end of October. By the end of March, WoW should already be published and hitting the store shelves which would be in time for "Game of Thrones" Season 6 to premiere.

As his resolution, GRRM said that he won't be setting another deadline for himself.

"The deadlines just stress me out," he said.

He did, however, promise that should "The Winds of Winter" comes out, fans will find it "pretty good."

For the meantime, "Game of Thrones" Season 6 is slated to return to the airwaves on April 24, 2016. Stay tuned for more updates.
