WWE Rumors: Vince McMahon Behind The Roman Reigns, Kurt Angle Replacement?

The WWE was thrown into confusion after a mysterious viral illness forced Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns to the sidelines. RAW general manager Kurt Angle instead took to the stage enjoyed a memorable moment in what was his first match in 11 years.

If there's anything fans know about the professional wrestling, it's that they should never take anything at face value. Hot off the line in the WWE rumor mill is the speculation that it was none other than head honcho Vince McMahon who came up with the idea for Kurt Angle to replace Roman Reigns at TLC last Thursday.

While his motives might be unknown at the moment, McMahon's alleged decision was definitely well received by fans. After an exceptional performance at the pay-per-view event, many are genuinely excited at the prospect of the gold-medalist Olympiad being back in the ring.

Angle might have to suit up for another match in the ring. However, despite the nostalgia this brings, it will only be on a limited basis and never be full-time. This is probably no surprise though, mainly due to the physical limitations at this point in his career.

As for Reigns' return, fans can probably expect his comeback sooner rather than later. Sources say that the illness that prevented the three-time WWE champion from participating in TLC isn't likely to keep him down for long.

He is currently expected to return shortly before Survivor Series. However, as far as the storyline is concerned, it likely that he might have to stay on the sidelines for a while.

Whatever the case, this is definitely good news for RAW who have been banking on The Shield for quite some time to draw in the crowds. Reigns is an integral part of WWE programming and, like him or not, will probably be the one who will serve as the foundation for much of the brand's immediate future.
