Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Release Date, Specs News: Launching In India, Includes Full Metal Body, 5.5-Inch Display, 13 MP Camera

Xiaomi has just announced that the new variant of the Redmi Note 3 will be launched in India next week. According to a report by The Times of India, the Chinese electronics company will debut the device onto the Indian market on March 3 at an open event at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. The event is also open to fans and media.

In terms of the specs of the device, Gadgets 360 detailed that the device will be sporting a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixels and 178 degree viewing angle. Under the hood, the device is equipped with a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor with four cores clocked at 1.2GHz and two cores clocked at 1.8GHz. There are two variants of the model in terms of the RAM and storage space. One will have 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB of internal storage while the other will have 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of inbuilt storage. The device will run with Android Lollipop operating system out of the box and it will be skinned with MIUI 7 software.

For the imaging, The Indian Express reported that the Redmi Note 3 will feature a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It is 4G ready with dual-SIM support and will be powered with a whopping 4000mAh battery.

But despite the extra large battery pack of the device, Xiaomi says that the smartphone is ultra-thin as it measures 8.65mm and weighs 164g only. It also comes with a fast-charging feature which claims to have the ability to charge up to 50 percent in one hour.

The exterior of the device is covered with metal body and a fingerprint scanner is found at the back. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, GPS, Wi-Fi, Glonass and Micro-USB. The price of the device is not revealed yet but if it's based on the China variant, the Redmi Note 3 could cost approximately Rs. 10,000.
