'Young Sheldon' Season 1 Spoilers: Sheldon Tries to Befriend Someone

The upcoming episode of "Young Sheldon" season 1 will see Sheldon (Iain Armitage) attempting to make a friend.

The synopsis of the episode, titled "Rockets, Communists, and the Dewey Decimal System," states that Sheldon will try to satisfy his mother, who has become worried that his son has no friends. In an effort to befriend someone, Sheldon will turn to a self-help book in order to learn techniques on how to do just that.

A teaser trailer for the new episode has also been released. It opens with Missy (Raegan Revord) wearing sunglasses and pretending to play the guitar in her room as she jams out to music on the radio. The next scene finds Georgie (Montana Jordan) sneaking around with his siblings and tells them to keep quiet.

Sheldon plays cards with Meemaw (Annie Potts), who seems quite amused by her grandson. In another scene, Sheldon tells Meemaw that he is unable to lie to his mother. However, Meemaw encourages him otherwise.

"Sure, you can. Believe in yourself," she says.

In the premiere episode of "Young Sheldon," fans were introduced to Sheldon's family, some of whom have already appeared on "The Big Bang Theory," though played by older actors. The Cooper family dynamic was in full view. It is clear that Sheldon was a germophobe from a young age, refusing to hold his father's and brother's hands while praying.

On his first day at high school, Sheldon unintentionally insulted his classmates and teachers. This landed him in trouble, and his parents were called down to the principal's office. George Sr. (Lance Barber) sat down with Sheldon and taught him a lesson about keeping some things to himself, using his own experience of getting fired as an example. Feeling bad for his father, Sheldon held his father's hand for the first time.

"Young Sheldon" season 1 will return on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 8:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
