Zombie Attack in Miami, Man Killed While Eating Victim's Face Identified (VIDEO)

A naked man was shot Saturday after being discovered eating another man's face.

Miami police were called out Saturday at 2 p.m. after a report that two men were having a public conflict off a highway ramp near NE 13th st. When police arrived, they discovered a naked man eating off the face of the second man.

The man, who was decribed to look like a "zombie," was later identified as 31-year-old Rudy Eugene. Eugene was shot by police a number of times after he continued to maul the second man's face despite being told to stop.

"The guy - he was like a zombie, blood dripping; it was intense," Larry Vega, a biker was riding nearby and witnessed the incident, told reporters. "I never thought I would see someone eating someone. It was really, really horrific."

Police suspect that Eugene may have been suffering from "cocaine psychosis" according to the Huffington Post, which stated that few other details had been released. The victim, believed to be a homeless man, was in the hospital recovering on Monday, although witnesses said the man's face was left barely recognizable.

Eugene was "growling like an animal as he swallowed pieces of flesh" before officers fired the initial shot, according to The New York Daily News. Following the initial shot, the suspect continued "chomping on the man's ears, nose and cheeks -- and even tried to gouge out his eyeballs" before cops fired several more shots.

Eugene was killed at the scene.

The suspect had prior arrests, but only one for battery, and none so violent as his most recent offense. Eugene's ex-wife also admitted that she had divorced him because he had become "increasingly hostile" according to the Daily News.

"I wouldn't say he had (a) mental problem but he always felt like people was against him," Jenny Ductant told the local news station. "No one was for him, everyone was against him."
