2016 Presidential Poll Update: Donald Trump Leads in South Carolina by 5 Points as Clinton and Sanders Fight For Nevada

As the people of South Carolina continue to heat up the presidential battle, a new poll reveals that Donald Trump is still leading his Republican co-candidates but by just 5 points, compared to his huge leads over the past weeks.

According to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist Poll, Trump is leading the race with 28 percent, while Ted Cruz follows almost closely behind with 23 percent. The businessman has seen bigger figures over the past few weeks leading to the State's primary, but it seems his support has staggered a little as Cruz closes in.

Last month, Trump led the Republican party by 16 points, while other previous polls in the state showed that he had a good and solid two-digit lead, but with news of the tight battle between him and Cruz, some suggest that his biggest rival may get a chance to win the people of South Carolina.

Meanwhile, Nevada is also getting ready for its caucuses as the Democrats try to win the state through rallies. According to The New York Times, Bernie Sanders held three rallies around the state, calling for voters to show the world how democracy is still kicking. He told his supporters ahead of the event that he is hoping for a good number of voters to be part of the caucuses.

Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, held one public rally to call on her loyal supporters. It should be noted that the former Secretary of State once won the so-called "Silver State" against then Sen. Barack Obama, and while she could once again emerge victorious in the mostly Latino community, the stakes are very high since Sanders has been doing well over the past few weeks.

Experts suggest that it would be best to wait for Nevada to complete its caucuses before predicting which Democrat will take home the victory since recent polls put the two in a really tight position and Sanders' recent jump in support could be a threat to the former First Lady.
