2016 Presidential Polls News: Trump Leading by Over 20 Percent in South Carolina
Following the heated Republican debate on Saturday that sparked a fierce battle between Donald Trump and Jeb Bush, a new poll reveals that the business mogul is leading his party by over 20 percent in South Carolina.
According to the latest poll by CBS, Trump is gaining a lot of support from conservatives and evangelical voters in South Carolina, with 42 percent of the likely Republican primary voters who joined the survey.
Ted Cruz follows behind with 20 percent, while Marco Rubio garnered 15 points. The rest of the remaining Republican candidates had numbers below 10 percent.

The poll also builds Trump's strong foundation on the support of people who say they have decided that the businessman should become president next year. Despite his downfall in Iowa's caucuses, he seems to be gaining the upper hand this time.
As for the Democratic party, Hillary Clinton is still on top of the race. Compared to Bernie Sanders' 40 percent, the former Secretary of State can be a little bit relieved since she has 59 points. A very tight battle was seen between Clinton and Sanders in the Iowan caucuses, and while the Vermont senator won the heart of New Hampshire, his South Carolina figures need to go up before the caucuses in order to claim victory.
As for Saturday's Republican debate, Bush and Trump made it clear once more that they don't agree in terms of the crisis in Syria. According to Syracuse News, Trump mentioned Bush's brother, George W. Bush, saying that the former president ignited the war in Iraq. He proceeded to his suggestion that the Islamic State needs to be destroyed first and foremost before thinking of how Bashar al-Assad should be dealt with.
Bush responded with a comment that a lot of people who are against the business mogul agree on. "This is a man who insults his way to the nomination," he said, adding that his brother built a "security apparatus" while Trump was busy with his television shows.
