2016 Toyota Prius News: World Premiere This Week
Toyota is set to unveil its fourth generation 2016 Prius Hybrid in Las Vegas this week, the company released in a statement.
Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota has announced it will be holding the world premiere of its new 2016 Toyota Prius on September 8 at a media-only event in Las Vegas, in what it describes will be "the next era of an icon."
It also released a teaser image for the launch, showing a bright red squiggle in the middle of a black background, described as the upcoming Prius' taillight profile.

With Toyota reportedly going all out during the exclusive event, leaked images from the Facebook group of a Malaysian Prius owner made its rounds online, showing a silver and a dark grey model of the fourth generation Prius.
Featuring a sharper look and a fastback body and LED headlights, the upcoming generation of Prius hybrid will feature Toyota Motor Corporation's New Global Architecture.
The car's cabin is reported getting a makeover from the previous generation's look, sporting white trim, a new steering wheel with three spokes, a large infotainment display, a transmission indicator, an upper display with the car's speedometer, and live-data information.
With the New Global Architecture under the hood, the 2016 Toyota Prius is geared to be a more efficient model with better gas mileage, thanks to its upgraded battery pack contributing to weight savings and a 35-mile all-electric range, a far cry from the current model's 11 miler.
It will also feature an all-wheel drive system, a thermal-efficient four-cylinder 148 horsepower 1.8 liter-capacity engine, and a new electric motor.
When the 2016 Toyota Prius goes on sale, it will be pitting itself against Chevrolet's redesigned Volt, Ford's C-Max Hybrid model, and fully electric vehicles like the Nissan Leaf, BMW i3, and Kia Soul EV.
