2018 Tesla Model 3 Reveal Date Announced, Launch Price at $35,000

American automotive and energy storage company Tesla is now all geared up to unveil the electric car Model 3 soon. According to a report by Gizmag, the company reconfirmed via a tweet that they will be revealing the highly-anticipated Model 3 sedan at press event on March 31.

The tweet came along with a teaser image showing the Model 3 alongside other models, the Model S sedan and the Model X SUV. It does not come with specific details regarding the upcoming vehicle but it does show that it will be smaller than the Model S and will have the same roundness of the Model X.

CNET also reported that the company has revealed the price tag of the forthcoming sedan. It will have a launch price of $35,000, which is actually the price point target back in 2014. Tesla has also sent out invites already for the gala event. Transport Evolved detailed that the unveiling is speculated to take place at Hawthorne Design Studio in Southern California. Among the invited are those who have been awarded a VIP + 1 ticket through Tesla's famous Model S Referral Program. The invites were sent out via email.

Not much is known yet on what details and how much of the specs of the car will unveiled during the event but Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that preorders will start after the March reveal. This means that it won't be long until the car will be available for sale especially since there is a projected positive cash flow for the year 2016.

The company is said to invest in "equipment to support cell production at the Gigafactory, begin installation of Model 3 vehicle production machinery, open about 80 retail locations and service centers, and energize about 300 new Supercharger locations."

The Tesla Model 3 sedan will be ready for production and deliveries by late 2017 if the schedule is followed.
