24 Sets of Twins in Same 5th Grade Class; Set to Break Guinness World Record (PHOTOS)
24 sets of twins could put an Illinois school in the Guinness Book of World Records, according to reports.
Highcrest Middle School amazingly has 24 sets of twins not only all in the same school, but also all in the same grade. It is believed that the number would smash the current world record of 16 sets of twins, which is jointly held by three other schools.
At present the record is officially still shared by Valley Southwoods Freshman High School in Iowa, Staples High School in Connecticut, and Maine South High School in Illinois. But Highcrest Middle School has 8 more sets of twins in their grade 5 class.

The 24 sets of twins exist in the school's fifth grade class, and the extraordinary statistic is now coming to public attention after one of the sets of twins notified the Guinness Book of World Records about the information.
Luke and Ryan Novosel, 11-year-old twins, are the kids who have notified the world record keeping body, according to ABC News. The siblings looked up the current world record for sets of twins in one grade, and found out it was recorded as 16. But when counting their own classmates they realized their school smashed the presently standing record.
The children submitted names and birth records to Guinness with the help of their parents, and although their information is currently being processed it is believed it is only a matter of time before they hear back and are officially recognized as the new world record holders.
According to Fox News, the 24 sets of twins include two sets of female twins, with the other sets being fraternal twins including 11 sets of girls, three sets of boys, and 10 sets of boy-girl twins.
Nancy Fendley, mother of Luke and Ryan, has said, "We were absolutely shocked … I think it's just statistically kind of bizarre … The whole school thinks it's the greatest thing. … It's been such a fun, creative experience."
