32 Years of Toilet Papering Houses: Secret Society in LA Documented in New Film (VIDEO)

After 32 years of toilet papering houses, an amateur filmmaker has decided to create a documentary showing the exploits of teenagers over the past three decades.

The documentary will focus on teenagers toilet papering houses in Los Angeles, and specifically on a "secret society" of pranksters.

Filmmaker Whit Scott wants to reveal how this so-called "secret society" has evolved over the past 30 years, and how the prank has survived through various changes in society, and how it is as popular as ever.

Toilet papering allegedly started as a group of vandals wreaking havoc on residences in 1979. From there the prank has spiraled out to have quite a following among teenagers looking to play tricks on their neighbors.

Scott has said that he wanted to document the movement of a group of teenagers toilet papering houses in California 32 years ago, and go from there to show how the underground movement has developed.

Proposing his ideas to others, Scott wanted to fundraise $30,000 to fund the film's creation. However, he was stunned when the idea spiraled in popularity and he easily surpassed the $30K goal.

Scott has spoken about the toilet paper documentary: "In the late 90s, I joined this group as the historian. I recently convinced my three compatriots to recount their experiences. They said yes, we collected some great stories, and we were also able to meet the group's founding member. What remains is to go to Los Angeles to meet and film the kids currently in the group, and see how it's doing since we left in 2000," according to Yahoo News.

Here is a video showing teens going on a toilet papering prank, similar to the pranks documented in the new film:
