Adele Earns Record-Breaking Success With '21' Album
Adele has continued her record-breaking success by setting new records with her Grammy winning album, "21."
Adele's now record-breaking album, "21," has pulled off its largest sales week, after the singer's comeback. Nielsen SoundScan has announced that "21" sold over 730,000 in the week after Adele won six Grammys. It was the biggest selling week for the album.
"21," which was released in the U.S. in February 2011, saw a 207 percent sales increase in the past week.

Norah Jones achieved similar success in 2003 with her album, "Come Away With Me." It sold 621,000 copies after she won five Grammys.
"21" has been downloaded over 2 million times on iTunes, making Adele the first artist to ever go double platinum on Apple's iTunes Store.
Adele's "21" album has also reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart for 21 consecutive weeks and is now the longest running No. 1 album by a woman in Billboard history. Adele has now beaten out the record held by the late-Whitney Houston's 1992 soundtrack album, "Bodyguard."
Just two weeks ago, Adele took home six Grammys in every category she was nominated for. She won Grammys for "Record of the Year," Song of the Year," and "Album of the Year," among others.
Despite her unprecedented success, Adele is determined to keep her feet on the ground. Adele is believed to have been left shaken by the recent death of Whitney Houston and has vowed not to let fame destroy her life.
"Whitney's death really shocked Adele," the source added, according to The Belfast Telegraph. "There is no way she wants to be a part of that. She's determined to lead as normal a life as possible."
