'Agent Carter' Season 2 News: EPs Talk About The Show's New Location, Peggy's New Love Interest, New Big Bad
The highly anticipated Season 2 back to back premiere event of Marvel and ABC's hit superhero drama TV series "Agent Carter" just aired the past week and as expected, the new season found the titular heroine (Hayley Atwell) relocating to California to work for the West Coast bureau of the Strategic Scientific Reserve.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producers Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters opened up about the show's decision to move Agent Carter from New York to the sunnier side of the country.
According to the EPs, it would be more advantageous for them when it comes to the production aspect of the show.

"Because we shoot in L.A. and we were trying to turn L.A. into 1946 New York, it actually in some ways makes production easier because you can go to actual L.A. landmarks like the Griffith Observatory and other places that are still essentially the same," Fazekas explained to EW.
Other than that, the move to LA lends a "nice new look into the show" but not to the extent that it has become a totally different show.
Talking about the theme of the new season, Butters pointed out that while Season 1 tackled the issue of sexism at the workplace, Season 2 is about "reinventing yourself." Fazekas pointed out that with Peggy coming over to a new place, it also means she's now ready "to open up a new part of her life."
Speaking about Peggy's new potential love interest, the showrunners particularly pointed out the race issue between her and Reggie Austin's Jason Wilkes. Wilkes, who is an African-American, will surely raise some eyebrows in that era. But that is something that the show wishes to address.
Fans of James D'Arcy's Edwin Jarvis might want to ready themselves for what might happen to the butler. According to Fazekas, the assistant will become more involved in this season "but it's not without consequences."
Talking about the bad things to come, the show boss teased a different kind of trouble coming their way thanks to Wynn Everett's Whitney Frost. Although a great deal about the character had already been shown in the premiere, more of her backstory will be told in Episode 4.
"Agent Carter" Season 2 airs Tuesdays on ABC.
