'Agent Carter' Season 2 Spoilers, Plot News: Full Summary Reveals Peggy's New Mission
After an action-packed eight-episode first season, every TV-goer's favorite Marvel character Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) will be coming back to the small screens with the new second season of Marvel and ABC's hit series, "Agent Carter."
Over the past few weeks, the network released a handful of promo materials including a full-length trailer, TV spots, and posters, to name a few. To further ramp up the anticipation, a full synopsis was rolled out and it offered a quite detailed look at the new installment.
Via Screen Rant, the official release said that viewers will once again find the titular hero once again on a mission for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve).
Driven with passion to eradicate the threats brought about by the new Atomic Age, Agent Carter will journey from New York City to Los Angeles to accomplish "her most dangerous and bizarre assignment yet."
This came to pass when East Coast SSR Office boss Jack Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) tipped Peggy about a "strange homicide" which involves "a body that glows and emanates cold." Her new task will find her latched to a new boss, the West Coast SSR Chief Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj).
Her arrival to the "glitz and glamour" city will be ushered by none other than Howard Stark's (Dominic Cooper) trusty butler and companion, Edwin Jarvis (James D' Arcy). Housed in the rich industrialist's Hollywood abode, Peggy will soon be acquainted to Ana (Lotte Verbeek), Jarvis' "free-spirited and devoted wife to whom she takes an immediate liking."
In line with the investigation, Peggy will also meet the "quirky yet charming scientist" Jason Wilkes (Reggie Austin). Down the road, she will also be introduced to Whitney Frost (Wynn Everett), "a movie starlet, brilliant physicist" and husband to the senatorial candidate Calvin Chadwick (Currie Graham).There happens to be some shady deals going on around with the latter and a certain Vernon Masters (Kurtwood Smith), a War Department vetreran.
Her mission will eventually escalate to a whole new level when Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan) returns to the scene "in a new and unexpected way."
