All Xbox 360 'Halo' Games Now Playable On Xbox One
Get ready to feel some nostalgia because All Xbox 360-era "Halo" games are now backwards compatible for the Xbox One and Xbox One S. Microsoft already made downloadable content for all Xbox 360-era Halo games free earlier this year so this comes as no surprise.
"We know everyone is very eager to get their hands on the Xbox One back-compat release of 'Halo: CE Anniversary,' 'Halo 3,' 'Halo 3 ODST,' and 'Halo 4,'" 343 Industries said in a blog post prior to the launch. "We are eager to get them into your hands! The Xbox back-compat team is hard at work on final polish and we continue to work closely with them to help test and evaluate all four games for launch."
As with most backwards compatible titles, gamers who previously owned "Halo 3," "Halo 3: ODST," "Halo 4" and "Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary" can now get them via the Xbox Store absolutely free. All of them can be digitally downloaded with the exception of "Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary" which requires a disc.

Both single-player campaign and multiplayer for all the games are also available which means gamers can play with both Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners using their Xbox Live subscription. And with all DLC available for free, that means more maps for "Halo" fans to enjoy.
Aside from the four Xbox 360 era Halo games, Microsoft also teased the character Pavium from the Awakening the Nightmare expansion for "Halo Wars 2." Pavium is a leader of the Banished, a mercenary organization and a splinter faction of the former Covenant Empire. Formerly a combat engineer, he has through the ranks as quickly as he could have because of loyalty to his brother Voridus and clan.
Armed with a Heavy Mortar System in combat, Pavium is expected to wreak havoc as he bombards his enemies. Fans can now enjoy him along with classic "Halo" titles on the Xbox One.
