'American Idol 2016' News, Recap: Schedule Changes Announced by Network
Fox's hit reality singing competition series "American Idol" is back once again for a one last season run and things are getting even more exciting.
According to AmericanIdolNet.com, the show continues this week with the auditions round, which will be the second of its three-week run. The show, headed by Season 13, Season 14, and Season 15 judges Harry Connick Jr., Keith Urban, and Jennifer Lopez and hosted by Ryan Seacrest, headed over to Philadelphia to shop for top-brass talents. The show also intends to return to Little Rock and Denver for a repeat visit.
The website also detailed new schedules for the show's weekly episodes during the auditions phase. For Wednesdays, the episode will be dropped to a one-hour airing and will now start at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The Thursday night show event, meanwhile, will retain its two-hour runtime which begins at 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. ET/PT.

"We'll be on that new schedule for several more weeks as the auditions phase lasts another two weeks," the show announced.
The show will also reportedly crown a winner this coming April 7. The Season Finale typically concludes around May.
Last Thursday, "American Idol" premiered its Farewell Season with a two-night Season XV special. The opening segment saw a lot of hopefuls from Little Rock and San Francisco getting handed with Golden Tickets.
Billboard.com offered a recap of the event. As detailed by the website, the 2016 edition of the singing contest kicks off with more than a handful of surprisingly incredible performances from talents across all walks of life.
Among the most highlighted auditionees include a farmer, Trent Harmon who sang, "Unaware" by Allen Stone; a 15-year-old born with a cleft palette, Cameron Richard, who sang "Give Me Love" by Ed Sheeran; and a young mother, La'Porsha Renae, who sang Radiohead's "Creep;" just to name a few.
Meanwhile, yesterday's episode featured the Philadelphia auditions, where some of the highlighted auditionees like Gianna Isabella, who sang "House of the Rising Sun;" Sarah Sturm, who sang "Lips Are Moving;" Jenn Blosil, who sang "Radioactive;" and John Arthur Greene, who sang "Somebody Like You," were fortunate enough to receive Golden Tickets, according to another report from AmericanIdolNet.com.
