'Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp' Coming To Mobile Next Month
After being relatively silent for a while, Nintendo has finally revealed the release date for its upcoming mobile game "Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp." The mobile version of the hit free-to-play social simulation game will finally arrive on the iOS and Android platforms next month.
First announced back in spring of 2016, Nintendo had planned to release the game by the end of last year. However, the release of "Super Mario" run in the fall of 2016 prompted the company to postpone the game until later this year.
The game takes a departure from the series' regular setting with the player taking the role of a manager for a campsite. Previous iterations of the game often featured a human character moving into a rural village populated with anthropomorphic animals helping its residents in various tasks as well as designing the town.
Players will help out as many of the campsite's visitors making friends with their favorites so they come back regularly. Gameplay pretty much resembles those from other "Animal Crossing" games although there is more emphasis on helping fellow campers rather than selling goods to make money.
After campers are done fishing, collecting fruit, or catching bugs, they will request an item and pay for it. This, in turn, will increase player's friendship level. With the money campers pay or item crafting rewards, players can then either craft or buy new furniture to design the camp to their liking.
One rather new feature in "Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp" is amenities which can offer new activities for your campers. The feature is based on one of the features from previous games and swimming pools, merry-go-rounds, or half pipes.
Like all "Animal Crossing" games, the "Pocket Camp" will also have seasonal updates which the look of the game and the items available. With the game set to be released next month, "Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp" players will likely be greeted by the red and brown tinge of fall.
