'Ant-Man and the Wasp' Cast News: Michael Douglas Loved Doing First One and Excited To Return

A familiar face will be returning to the upcoming sequel "Ant Man and the Wasp."

It was reported that actor Michael Douglas shared some exciting news about the upcoming film. He revealed that he will be reprising his role as Dr. Hank Pym, as reported by Collider.

Douglas explained that he recently received a call asking him to negotiate for a sequel. Excited about his return to the movie, he said, "Hopefully, I won't have to carry quite as much expositional dialogue as the first one but I had a wonderful time doing it. Just a great, great time. He also expressed his desire to see Corey Stoll return as the villain of the film. It was evident that Douglas was excited to be back on board. He added, "I chuckle about being involved with a movie that already has a release date in 2018. You know, it's hard to conceive of that, but it's all good, all the way around, it's all good."

The film will be directed by Peyton Reed and is expected to see Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as the leads. Rudd will be taking on the role of Scott Lang, also known as Ant-Man, while Evangeline Lilly portrays the character of Hope Van Dyne, also known as the Wasp.

The story of the upcoming film is expected to debut Lilly as the Wasp. The previous movie had hinted at this possibility when her father showed her the Wasp suit that he had worked on for her. Meanwhile, Rudd will be returning as the Ant-Man in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War." However, it was not revealed if Lilly will also be taking part in the film. There are speculations that she will be seen in the Phase Three of Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp" is expected to return to theaters on July 6, 2018.
