iOS 8.4.1 Mobile OS Download Release Date Arrives: Available for All Supported Apple Devices

Apple has recently rolled out its latest mobile OS, the iOS 8.4.1, that launched for iPhones and iPads last week.

The update was released Aug. 13 for Apple's supported devices and is geared towards resolving several bugs in Apple Music.

The new OS update was initially seeded for registered developers to beta test last month, through build number 12H304 downloadable via the Apple Developer Center. The final build has just been made available for download Thursday via the Software Update tool found under the Settings app on applicable iOS devices.

The iOS 8.4.1 followed the much bigger release of June's iOS 8.4, and Apple's official changelog specifically points out its purpose is to include Apple Music improvements and bug fixes, as well as performance enhancements and other minor tweaks to iOS 8.

The update came about following user complaints over Apple's new music app, specifically pointing out certain aspects of the app reported as "clunky."

The fixes include resolving the issues preventing users from accessing the iCloud Music Library. It also intervened in the glitch that effectively hid added music as the app had earlier been configured to only show offline music.

The update fixed the issue which presented different album artwork on other devices, a bug immobilizing Love when it is tapped while the Beats 1 radio station is playing, as well as issues artists experienced when they posted on Connect.

The iOS 8.4.1 has also enabled users to add music to a new playlist, even if no playlist is available to choose from.

The iOS 8.4.1 is expected to be one of iOS 8's last updates, as Apple is currently testing its successor, the iOS 9, in preparation for a fall release together with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Apple is reportedly continuing to tinker with some of Apple Music's other user interface shortcomings, and may present the app's improvements when it releases the iOS 9 on Sept. 9.
