'Arrow' Season 3 Spoilers, Episode 8 Plot News: Oliver Shows Barry What It's Like to Be 'The Brave And The Bold'

"Arrow" aired the eighth episode of its fifth season on Wednesday, where Oliver, Felicity and Diggle deal with the boomerang-wielding murderer, Captain Boomerang, with the help of Team Flash.

The CW continues their "Arrow" and "Flash" crossover with the airing of the second part, titled "The Brave and the Bold."

Oliver a.k.a. the Arrow teamed up with Diggle and Roy a.k.a. Arsenal to raid a house owned by Digger Harkness, who may be responsible for the boomerang murders. However, they found out that ARGUS is also on the lookout for Harkness, prompting Diggle to look to his partner and ARGUS agent Lyla to find out why.

Team Flash then appeared in Starling City, with Caitlin looking to pick up the DNA Felicity acquired from Sara's murder and Cisco was interested in seeing their secret base and their gadgets. Barry also ended up saving Oliver, Diggle and Lyla when Harkness storms ARGUS HQ. It turned out Harkness is out for Lyla after a failed mission called for her to eliminate the team, and Harkness was the only one who survived.

With Team Flash's help, they track down Markos, the maker of the boomerangs, and Barry is shocked when Oliver tortures information out of him, leading the two to argue. Harkness was able to deceive the team however, and managed to attack Lyla. Oliver takes the incident to heart but after being comforted by Barry he forges on to confront Harkness.

However Harkness still has an ace up his sleeve and plants five bombs around the city. They were able to diffuse them with the combined efforts of Barry, Felicity, Roy, Caitlin and Cisco, and Oliver puts Harkness in his place without killing him.

As is always present in the episodes of "Arrow," there are flashback scenes spread throughout the show, showing Oliver's struggles in Hong Kong years prior.

It was revealed that Amanda Waller ordered Oliver to interrogate an ammunitions experts. She presented him with a bow and arrow, urging him to torture the information out of the man if need be.

When Oliver failed, Amanda is angered about his inability to face and accept extreme situations, and then had him try it again. Oliver could be seen being less hesitant the second time around.

Also, fans were given a treat at the end as Oliver and Barry decided to settle the dispute over who is better, the Arrow or the Flash. Unfortunately, the episode was cut off before viewers could find out who won.
After the two-part crossover, "The Flash" and "Arrow" will continue on with their run in their respective series. Both shows airs at The CW at 8 p.m. with "The Flash" airing Tuesdays and "Arrow" airing on Wednesdays.
