'Arrow' Season 4 News, Spoilers: Felicity Will Either Re-Join Team Arrow or Get Back With Oliver

While Team Arrow was dealt a savage blow with the recent death of Laurel Lance/Black Canary (Katie Cassidy), Laurel's passing may bring about at least one good thing for the team: the possible return of Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).

According to "Arrow" executive producer Marc Guggenheim, dealing with the loss of Laurel may have Felicity rethinking one of her two recent decisions, (1) stepping away from Team Arrow, and (2) breaking up with Oliver (Stephen Amell).

"And in Episode 19 ['Canary Cry,' airing Wednesday, April 27], we'll see the undoing of one of those decisions," Guggenheim told TVLine.

But just because Felicity may be returning to the team doesn't necessarily mean that she will be rekindling her romance with Oliver, her former fiancee.

"One does not mean the other is going to happen," showrunner Wendy Mericle said. "She could come back to the team and that does not mean that she's back together with Oliver."

Guggenheim went on to assure fans that the Olicity issue isn't the reason they chose to kill off Laurel. According to the "Arrrow" boss, "We never had to kill Laurel to make Oliver and Felicity a couple."

"That is really independent from the romantic history that Oliver and Laurel had, and a completely different set of dynamics," he explained.

Guggenheim also told TVLine that fans will just have to wait to see if the situation with Felicity and Oliver will soon change—or not—as the show's fourth season approaches its conclusion.

Speaking of season 4, Rickards recently dropped a juicy hint about the remaining episodes in the show's fourth season. In a video clip posted to Twitter, the actress responded to the question of how she would describe the rest of season 4 in just three words.

"Absolute destruction, devastation," the "Arrow" star answered.

"Arrow" will air its next episode, titled "Canary Cry," on April 27.

The show airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
