Asus Zenfone Zoom Launched in China, Features 13 MP SmartFSI camera Sensor, Optical Zoom, DSLR-Style Shooting
The Asus ZenFone Zoom is finally here. According to a report by Phone Arena, the Taiwan-based electronics company has released the ZenFone Zoom after almost one year since it was first announced. The handset is available in the company's home country but, as reported by Mobipicker, the phone has been launched in China as well.
Latin Post also noted that the company released a global promo video featuring the handset. It indicated that the device may be released to others parts of the world soon. If the speculations are true, then fans from other countries will be able to see the 5.5-inch device in person. Android Headlines detailed that it will have a 1080p (1920 x 1080) display.
It is also said to be equipped with 4 GB of RAM and users can choose between the two internal storage options which are 64 GB and 128 GB. The source also said that the smartphone is driven by Intel's Atom Z3590 quad-core SoC. It also has a PowerVR G6430 GPU for graphics.

The highlight feature of the device is its camera. According to Ubergizmo, the promo video description for the ZenFone Zoom said it is "the world's thinnest 3x optical zoom smartphone with an innovative 10-element HOYA lens arrangement for crisp detail—and up to 12x total magnification."
It's also noted that the rear camera has a 13 megapixels SmartFSI camera sensor and features optical image stabilization, laser auto focus, and a dual LED flash. Aside from that, the description also says that the Asus Zenfone "redefines expectations for smartphone photography." It even features a DSLR-style shooting experience.
Furthermore, the handset is expected to be pre-installed with Android 5.0 Lollipop. But it's predicted as well to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade. It can support LTE and is powered with 3,000 mAh battery.
In Taiwan, the Asus Zenfone Zoom has a starting price of around $430 for the 64 GB and $490 for the 128 GB, according to the Phone Arena report.
