AT&T Unveils Trek HD 4G LTE, Its First Own-Brand Android Lollipop Tablet (VIDEO)
AT&T just launched an Android Lollipop tablet, the Trek HD 4G LTE, the carrier's own-branded device to carry the latest OS out of the box. The Trek HD 4G LTE is expected to be featured on the company's website May 12 and will be made available in U.S. retail stores nationwide by May 15.
The tablet weighs 12 ounces (340 grams) and features an 8-inch HD screen. The device offers users LTE connectivity, with the carrier calling the tablet "a big step forward" in their quest to develop premium products at affordable price points for consumers.
The Trek HD 4G LTE runs on a quad core 1.6 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, and has a 16 GB internal memory expandable up to 32 GB, as well as a microSD card slot. Its shell carries a 4060 mAh battery that lasts up to 8 hours with continuous use.

Featuring a 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front shooter, the Trek HD 4G LTE has been rated three out of five stars on the carrier's Eco-Rating 2.0 system.
AT&T designed the Trek HD with consumers' social lives in mind, allowing on-the-go usage whether users are on a flight or a road trip. The tablet also has Multi-user capabilities, allowing separate account set-ups for individual members of a family.
The carrier hasn't disclosed information on its first tablet's manufacturer; however, gadget insiders are speculating it may have been assembled by one of the company's China-based partners, possibly ZTE, although AT&T hasn't confirmed whether its true.
Beginning Tuesday, US consumers will be able to purchase the Trek HD online at $49.99 on a two-year contract, or pay $10 or $20 per month with AT&T's installment plan for tablets.
