'Bates Motel' Season 4 Spoilers: Norman Goes Crazy

With the fourth season of "Bates Motel" a couple of months away, it was reported that the episodes to come will present a darker theme compared to those in the previous seasons.

The previous season of "Bates Motel" finally revealed that the lead character Norman Bates was taking an unusual turn personality wise. The actor behind the role, Freddie Highmore, shared some interesting details about "Bates Motel" season 4.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Highmore explained that his character will be more delusional when the series returns. With Norman soon drifting away from reality, Highmore warned that the episodes could be confusing to fans.

He stated, "In the basement, when Norman puts his head down on the table next to the pigeon who is very much dead, and Juno the dog is next to them, and then you cut back to him, and he's just staring straight into space…"

Aside from Norman's new twisted perspective, it was revealed that tragedy will also be taking place in the episodes to come. The executive producer of the series Kerry Ehrin spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what could take place in the new season. She hinted that Norma could see the end at any point of the season.

She said, "I feel like that could happen, honestly, at any point. It could happen in any episode from now until the end of the series!"

However, not all will be bad for the character since it was reported that she will be receiving help from a new character. It was said that Damon Gupton will soon be joining the cast as Dr. Gregg, who will help Norma in getting her son to a mental hospital. The previous season saw Norma struggling to afford his son's admission to the hospital.

"Bates Motel" season 4 will premiere on Mar. 28, 2016 on A&E.
