Best and Worst Airports In The World According To Airline Staff Stated

Pilots and flight attendants everywhere have spoken out about which of the world's airports are the best - and the worst.

On a recent AskReddit thread, user Turbo-Kid posed the question "Pilots and Flight Attendants, which airports do you love and which ones do you hate?" The post has elicited more than 5670 comments debating which airports are a traveller's dream and which are simply abhorrent. The thread has also revealed some useful travel tips and suggestions for future trips.

It was not immediately clear whether or not those who responded to the informal poll were, in fact, pilots and flight attendants, as most of the respondents remained anonymous. Some of those who commented in the thread admitted that they were neither pilots nor flight attendants, but were frequent airline passengers.

Worst: LAX, MNL, LGA

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) drew the ire of many, with several Reddit users saying that despite being an iconic airport, it is one of the world's worst.

"There's construction everywhere, it's always a mess to taxi around," Reddit user HeroOfTime_99 wrote.

"Terminal 3 is one of Dante's circles of hell," neemarita added.

Many complained about the Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in the Philippine capital, a frequent placer in "worst airports" lists.

"It's hard because all the other airports in Asia are palaces, but MNL remains trapped in a time warp," jimsensei wrote.

Even one of the Philippines' own, Redditor chedeng, chimed in, saying, "We even had a bullet planting scandal last year that drew wide criticism and was on international news."

Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Nepal, New York City's LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) in Paris were also named some of the world's worst airports.

Best: SIN, DTW, MSP

Unsurprisingly, Singapore's Changi International Airport drew raves from the Reddit crowd. Commenters gave a variety of reasons for their good reviews, from the airport's movie theater to its butterfly house.

"You literally cannot get bored here and the biggest danger is sleeping too little from all the distractions!" nowhere_man11 wrote.

Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) was also called a favorite, with one user citing its train that leads directly to the Mall of America and another saying that the airport is "efficient" and "friendly."

Meanwhile, Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) also received rave reviews for its gourmet PB&Js and psychedelic tunnel.
