'Better Call Saul' Season 2 News: Show Casts Ed Begley Jr. For Recurring Role; Recent Trailer Sees Jimmy Drinking

The anticipation for the Season 2 premiere of AMC's hit "Breaking Bad" sequel, "Better Call Saul," is getting more intense as the weeks pass by. Most recently, a new casting report teased that the new installment might find Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) working for this man. Meanwhile, a promo video released by the network finds the titular character stranded in a bar.

According to Entertainment Weekly, actor Ed Begley Jr. has signed in to take on the role of a very influential man named Clifford. As described by the publication, the newcomer is an "authority figure who has the power to make any of Jimmy's dreams come true, if Jimmy can only play ball."

Sharing further details about the character is series co-creator Peter Gould who told EW that, "When you first meet him, he is highly avuncular and somebody whom you'd like to spend time with and is a very sweet guy. But you wouldn't want to cross him, let's put it that way."

The alter-ego of the six-time Emmy nominee has appeared on shows like "Portlandia" and "Arrested Development." He will debut right in the Season 2 premiere which is slated to air on Feb. 15.

The media outlet shared the photo of the elderly character in an office playing his guitar.

Meanwhile, IGN, through their official YouTube channel shared a promo released by the network. The highlight reel featured a fleeting scene inside what appears to be a Hispanic bar populated with lonely drifters, pool gamers, hairless brutes, and people who are conducting some shady deals. The camera later on focuses on Jimmy, with his ball cap on, and served liquor by the bartender. 

It can be assumed that the protagonist is in hiding. As he gobbled up his drink, his cellphone vibrated, prompting him of an incoming call. Who's calling him and what is the struggling public defender doing in that hole in the wall?
