Beyonce Delivers Baby, Ivy Blue Carter
One of the few successful pop-star couples, Beyonce and Jay-Z, has welcomed their first child Saturday, at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.
Ivy Blue Carter was welcomed to the world by her superstar parents via a scheduled C-section, late Saturday night. The couple reportedly paid over $1 million to reserve a private wing of Lenox Hill Hospital for the private procedure.
On Saturday night, people reportedly brought bags of takeout and bottles of red wine to the hospital wing, which was heavily guarded. According to Entertainment News, even doctors and nurses weren’t allowed on the fourth floor wing after 11 p.m., leading to complaints from doctors and patients.

Hospital workers even placed tape over security cameras and forced employees to turn in cell phones when they arrived for their shifts in an attempt to keep the media out. Several security guards were also seen patrolling the hospital Saturday night.
Several stars took to their Twitter accounts to congratulate the first-time parents, also making an impromptu announcement.
Music mogul Russell Simmons congratulated Jay-Z and Beyonce through his Twitter account.
“Congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z,” Simmons tweeted.
Gweneth Paltrow tweeted, “Welcome to the world Blue!”
“We love you already,” she said in her tweet.
Rihanna, Jay-Z’s leading RocNation artist, expressed her love for baby Ivy as well.
“Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih,” her tweet said.
Jay-Z, whose real name is Sean Carter has been married to Beyone Knowles since 2008 and been dating since 2002. While they may move a lot slower and covertly than most Hollywood couples, the arrival of their first born has been in headlines months before she was even born.
Ever since Beyonce announced her pregnancy in true diva fashion, during an MTV performance, fans have obsessed over her cravings, her pregnancy-fashion and her famously titled, “baby-bump.”
Jay-Z said in previous reports that he is excited about being a father. He says he wants to be the kind of father that can talk about anything with his child, according to Entertainment News.
Jay-Z’s father left him at an early age, and died after they were reunited in his adulthood, while Beyonce’s parents were divorced recently. Nevertheless, the couple has thus far managed to sustain a 10-year relationship.
