Binge On: T-Mobile Announces New Data-Free Unlimited Video Streaming Service
T-Mobile has announced Binge On, its new data-free unlimited video streaming service that will be launched next week.
Binge On, which was unveiled on Tuesday, will be included in around two dozen of T-Mobile's services starting next week. The new data-free video streaming service will hike up the wireless data plan costs for the mobile carrier's new customers, according to Variety.
"Delivering unlimited LTE plans is expensive and data usage skyrockets, so we're updating Simple Choice (pricing plans) to affect today's usage patterns," Variety quotes a T-Mobile representative's statement in an email.

It is worth noting that the videos on Binge On will be presented at a quality lower than that in DVDs. Users will be able to watch videos at a 480p only, versus the 720p or 1080p in HD viewing, USA Today reports.
The upcoming Binge On service will allow T-Mobil customers with data plans of at least 3 GB to avail of unlimited video streaming of various providers including Netflix, Hulu, Sling TV and HBO Go. The best thing about Binge On is that all the video services will not be charged to the qualifying customer's data allowance, the report details.
However, Binge On will bring additional charges for holders of T-Mobile LTE data plans starting Nov. 15. It will hitch up single-line user's monthly unlimited data charge from $30 to $45, resulting in a total monthly charge of $95 versus the previous $80. Two-line plan holders with a maximum data allowance of 10 GB each will experience an increased monthly fee of $120 from the previous $100.
Fortunately, the price hike does not come without any added benefits. T-Mobile will increase the monthly smartphone mobile hotspot data from 7 GB to 14 GB. The carrier will also offer one free movie every month for the whole year of 2016 from Walmart's Vudu service. The said offer is exclusive for holders of unlimited smartphone LTE plans, the report relays.
Morevoer, all T-Mobile customers will be able to avail of a 30 percent discount from their year-long Sling TV package. They will only pay a monthly fee of $14, a $6 drop from the regular price.
For now, Binge On does not include videos from Facebook and YouTube. Current T-Mobile customers can begin using the new unlimited data-free video streaming service on Nov. 19.
