The official synopsis for the episode titled "Rules in Defiance/Find a Secure Line" shared over at Zap2it.com hints of an anonymous tip what will arrive in the team's desk. The information prompts Weller and his squad to investigate an urgent death row case. For a yet to be unveiled reason, Zapata will take on the case head on by going undercover.
The sneak peek for the episode reveals how this may come to pass. The clip opens up with Patterson telling everyone about a string of kidnapping incident. The victims, as it turns out, are all young women.

The preview may seem to hint that the abductions, hundreds of them, are being done by a crime syndicate whose business is in prostitution.
A harrowing scene then came to flash showing agent Zapata getting stabbed with a syringe. She was then shown tied in a pole suggesting that she has now become one of the abducted. Perhaps, this is the FBI's plan to infiltrate the ring. But it looks like she may have gone too deep in the mission as Weller can be heard shouting her name, "Tasha!" Is the special agent in grave danger? Will the team be in time to save her from this tight situation?
In another development, both the trailer and the synopsis teased that in this episode, Jane will consider leaving the FBI.
"I wanna leave the FBI," Jane tells someone.
