Borderlands 3 Rumors, News: Prequel Announced (VIDEO)

A new Borderlands prequel was just announced for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, and will be developed by 2K Australia.

GamePointsNow reported the game will take place between a five year span of the first game and second game. The game will be set in on the Planet Pandora's moon.

No release date has been announced, but CEO of Gearbox, Randy Pitchford, had deceiving comments back in February. When asked about whether a Borderlands 3 was coming, he said "not working on Borderlands 3," and "there isn't a Borderlands 3."

In other news regarding the game, a PS Vita Slim model will be released with Borderlands 2 for $199, announced Sony's John Koller in a press conference.

He stated the Borderlands 2 PS Vita version of the game will have a four player cooperative play along with cross platform compatibility with the PS3 version. Six of the game's add-ons will be available as well.

The slim PS Vita came out in the U.K. in February, and uses LCD screens instead of OLED, and also uses a narrower touchpad as well as becoming lighter, thinner, and more rounded. The battery is a bit longer, and the handheld is more user friendly.

Polygon reported that the Vita will be a black model that includes a downloadable copy of the game, an 8 GB memory card, and a number of add-ons and extras. In Japan, the Vita comes in six colors.
