'Bridget Jones's Baby' News, Spoilers: First Trailer Drops; Renee Zellweger Kept British Accent Between Takes

The first trailer for the third "Bridget Jones" film is out and it shows the titular character (Renee Zellweger) dealing with two men and… a pregnancy?

"Bridget Jones's Baby," the third installment in the film series, follows "Bridget Jones's Diary" (2001) and "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" (2004). Both films starred Zellweger and followed Bridget as she navigated her thirties and found love with Mark Darcy (Colin Firth). Hugh Grant starred as her other love interest, Daniel Cleaver, in both films.

Now, nearly 15 years since the first film was released, Bridget is back and it seems that there is also a baby on board.

The first trailer for "Bridget Jones's Baby" was released on Wednesday, March 23, and it featured several interesting twists.

At the end of "The Edge of Reason," Mark proposed to Bridget and it seemed inevitable that the pair would get married. Surprisingly, in the trailer for "Baby," Bridget is still single and it appears that she and Mark have parted ways. Now that she is a news producer and is in her forties, could the bumbling Bridget have finally matured?

Apparently not, because as the trailer shows, the film's heroine will find herself pregnant and unsure who is the baby's father.

Is it Mark, with whom Bridget reunites, or Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey), the new man in Bridget's life?

Meanwhile, Zellweger, who has been praised for Bridget's convincing British accent, recently revealed the secret to keeping her accent sounding authentic while filming.

In an interview on "Good Morning Britain" on Thursday, March 24, the actress admitted that she simply stays in character (accent and all) even when she's not in front of the camera. According to the "Bridget Jones" star, she is simply too "lazy" to constantly switch her British accent on and off.

"It's just really lazy," Zellweger told the show's Kate Garraway (via The Daily Mail). "I don't want to do the work to get back into everyday."

"Bridget Jones's Baby" hits theaters Sep. 16.
