Buffalo Bills Roster News and Rumors: Richie Incognito Named to Pro Bowl
The Buffalo Bills relayed good news today by announcing that guard Richie Incognito has been named to the Pro Bowl for this year. The former University of Nebraska college football star was placed on the roster to replace the injured Mike Iupati of the Arizona Cardinals.
This year's Pro Bowl selection will be his second, with the first being in 2012 when he was still with the Miami Dolphins. As a start for the Bills in 16 games this season, he became a major contributor in the team's rushing attack, with the Bills leading the entire league in yards and yards per carry. In connection to that, proof of the team's vastly improved rushing game is the fact that three players in the roster were able to surpass the 500-yard mark for this year, namely LeSean McCoy, Tyrod Taylor, and Karlos Williams. Moreover, the Bills also have four Pro Bowlers on offense, a feat that was last achieved in 2002.
But Incognito's career hasn't been this pretty, though. Going back several years ago, this kind of feat would have been impossible for him to achieve. The fact is he didn't even play in the NFL last season. It's not that he does not deserve it; it's just that the league works this way.

Incognito is probably best known as one of the names involved in a bullying scandal revealed by a player whom he was teammates with in Miami — Jonathan Martin. In 2013, Martin accused Incognito of abusing him, leading to his decision to stop playing for the rest of that season after playing in seven games.
This year's Pro Bowl is scheduled on Sunday, Jan. 31 and will be broadcast live on ESPN. This year's event will be played in Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. The format to be used is still the same to that of last year where NFL Legends captains have the ultimate decision on Pro Bowl Draft selections.
