'Castle' Season 7 Spoilers: Two-Part Premiere Ahead, New Characters Coming

"Castle" fans can already look forward to a two-part season premiere this fall, according to spoilers online today.

The ABC drama is expected to return this fall, but several changes are in store. Series creator Andrew Marlowe has stepped down as "Castle" showrunner, making room for David Amann to take over. Consequently, Amann is penning the season seven opener, according to TVLine.

Furthermore, spoilers online indicate that the season seven premiere will air in two parts, and casting has begun for a guest-starring role of "Harry." The new character is a highly intelligent yet unassuming male who can blend into the crowd, TVLine reported. Season seven of "Castle" is also calling for guest-stars in roles of a Hamptons police sergeant, a doctor, a shrink, and a Coast Guard captain.

As previously reported, season seven will kick off without any time jump – picking up right after season six ended in a fiery car crash.

"We feel like, given the way we left off, we have an obligation to start exactly where we ended," the executive producer told TVLine. "So we'll be picking up in real time."

Marlowe's clue leaves many "Castle" fans hoping to see more of Kate Beckett in her wedding dress, and maybe even an actual wedding. During season six, rumors circulated that Castle's fiancée may be killed, and Stana Katic who portrays Beckett pointed to at least one death on the series with a cryptic Twitter post.

"S6 finale had us saying goodbye to a number of colleagues today," the actress wrote on the social media site earlier this year. "Lucky to work with these incredibly talented actors."

Meanwhile, the shakeup at "Castle" with Amann taking over as showrunner had fans wondering about the future for the television series. Marlowe's wife and "Castle" writer Terri Edda Miller took to Twitter assuring fans that his vision for the series would remain intact.

"For those expressing concern: @andrewmarlowe & I aren't leaving #Castle. Still here full time [for season seven]. Amann's just assuming more responsibility," Miller tweeted.

It is believed that "Castle" season seven will premiere on Sept. 22 at the very earliest, according to CarterMatt.
