'Castle' Season 8 Episode 16 Spoilers: Esposito's Connection With A Suspect Could Help Beckett And Castle Crack A Case

ABC's hit police procedural drama TV series "Castle" Season 8 returns after a short break with a brand new episode that will see Esposito (Jon Huertas) finally coming out clean to Rick (Nathan Fillion), Kate (Stana Katic) and Ryan (Seamus Dever) about his relationship with Sonia (Angelica Celaya).

The synopsis from The Futon Critic for the 16th episode titled "Hearbreaker" talks about the death of an armored-car driver. The victim, as it turns out, is somehow related to Esposito's ex-fiancee.

Digging deeper into the investigation, the partners will arrive in a discovery that the present case could be, in some way, similar to what Esposito handled in the past.

For those who missed it, the detective got involved with Sonia but he chose to keep mum about it with his peers.

The latest development, however, will force Esposito to spill out the beans about his relationship with Sonia. Moreover, his confession could be of great help for the NYPD to crack the case.

The sneak peek revealed just exactly how this awkward situation will come to light. In the clip, the trio was shocked to find out that Esposito was actually engaged with the suspect.

"Engaged? You? Wait a second…all these years you never told me that?" Ryan confronted the officer.

"You never asked!" Esposito replied.

"You're a cop. How could you be involved with a criminal?" Ryan went on to prod.

Rick butted in to say:

"Technically, there were in the same line of work so really, it's a…workplace romance," Castle reasoned out.

Esposito went on to vindicate the relationship by saying that he really didn't know about the woman's business. He recalled that at first, it's everything was normal until Sonia begun to act strange, "disappearing at odd hours and she couldn't look me in the eyes…"

Their relationship quickly went south down to her arrest which Esposito personally executed.

He ensured everyone that the thing between them is over. However, his face tells it all the moment his dashing ex-fiancee walked into the room for interrogation.

Find out how these events unfold when "Castle" Season 8 airs this Monday, Apr. 4 on ABC.
