Charlie Sheen Investigation News: Actor's Case Gets Publications Involved

Late last week, reports emerged that Charlie Sheen is under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department and just recently, two major celebrity news outlets have been involved in the case.

According to Reuters, RadarOnline.com and The National Enquirer became targets in the LAPD's search for an audio clip that could possibly help in the investigation. The outlets reportedly refused to hand over the material that carried the evidence against Sheen.

The two gossip publications reported earlier this year that Sheen's threats to a former fiancée has been recorded in an audio. In the said clip, he is allegedly heard saying he wants to see the ex-fiancée's "head kicked in."

On Thursday, the LAPD served a search warrant for the American Media Inc., the mother company of both publications that refused to release the audio in question.

Dylan Howard, editor-in-chief of the National Enquirer said, "We do believe that a judge did issue this order against the law, and that's why we will not be complying with its order." Howard went on to explain that the authorities should "uncover the evidence" without the help of the celebrity magazines.

According to CNN, the "Two and a Half Men" star is being investigated in a criminal case involving his suspected threats to an unidentified victim. While there are no other details revealed, it is expected that more aspects of the case will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Late last year, Sheen was accused by former fiancée Scottine Ross of assault and battery among others. Aside from allegedly locking Ross up in the bathroom, Sheen also reportedly pointed an unloaded gun at her.

Probably the most talked-about aspect of the lawsuit is Sheen's alleged failure to disclose his health condition to the adult video star. Sheen came out to the public in November 2015, revealing that he was HIV-positive. In Ross' lawsuit, it is said that the actor failed to inform her about his condition.

Sheen's attorney said at that time that time that the porn star's allegations were false and she only wants to extort money from the Hollywood actor.
