NBC's hit action drama TV series "Chicago Fire" Season 4 is slated to return this week with yet another suspenseful episode that will see Firehouse 51 dealing with Mother Nature's wrath as the whole city braces for an incoming tornado. On the casting side of things, a new report arrived this week indicating the arrival of a new character, making Dawson (Monica Raymund) no longer the only female in the emergency squad.

According to the synopsis from The Futon Critic for the episode "The Path of Destruction," the safety and the very lives of the people will be threatened when news of an incoming tornado is announced. Through Herrmann (David Eigenberg), it is learned that the tornado will certainly tread the path along the city.

In another development, Chili (Dora Madison) and Brett (Kara Killmer) will get into a quarrel when the former commits a mistake which leads to a victim gasping for dear life. The incident concerning Chili's "erratic behavior" prompts Brett to notify Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker).

Meanwhile, Otis (Yuri Sardarov) enlists Dawson's help in trying to solve his girl problems while Severide (Taylor Kinney) was called on to assist an ongoing investigation being done by the Department of Homeland Security through their agent, Alex Ward (guest star Liza Bennett). The case concerns a "suspicious home."

In related news, a casting report from Deadline.com points to "Blood & Oil" star Miranda Rae Mayo who signed a deal that would see her playing the role of a female newcomer in a male-dominated firehouse precinct.

The media outlet revealed that Mayo will take on the part of Stella Kidd who is described as "a fun, bawdy, tough, physical and brazen firefighter." The character is further thought of to be "funny, sharp as a tack and fearless."

Deadline added that Mayo's major recurring part could potentially make her a regular in the series.

"Chicago Fire" Season 4 "The Path of Destruction" airs this Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
