Chris Pratt Says He 'Had To Hustle Hard And Go Hungry' In Inspiring Instagram Post

After years of struggling to make it big in Hollywood, Chris Pratt's star is now shining.

The 36-year-old actor, who had been acting for more than a decade before finally landing the high-profile lead role as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" (2014) and starring as Owen Grady in the blockbuster hit "Jurassic World" (2015), is inspiring others trying to chase their own dreams.

Last Wednesday, the "Zero Dark Thirty" actor posted a photo of an Atlanta freeway on Instagram, where he has over 3.7 million followers, and reflected on his difficult beginnings as an actor in Hollywood.

"It's 3:20am," the caption to his Instagram photo began. "I got picked up for work at 6:45am yesterday." The actor went on to detail how his day went, saying that he began with a table read for the forthcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" in the morning, after which he proceeded to shoot for the film "Passengers," in which he co-stars alongside Jennifer Lawrence, for the rest of the day.

The two films, which Pratt is working on back-to-back, are both being shot at Pinewood Studies in Atlanta. The actor then went on to praise the crews for both films, calling them "total rock stars." Pratt also gushed about the two projects, saying that he can't wait for fans to see the films. He also said that he will have to return to the studio to continue filming in approximately eight hours.

Despite his demanding work schedule, Pratt said that he is having fun and that he is "overcome with joy and gratitude" because he is doing what he loves.

"Fifteen years ago I felt the same passion I feel today, but I had very little opportunity," the actor said, adding: "I had to hustle hard and go hungry. I had to eat sardines and figure out how to get gas money. And I never had a plan B."

"I never stopped believing," he said. "Ever."

The actor concluded the post with a reminder: "Don't give up. Apply constant pressure for as long as it takes. It will break before you do. Go get it."

Pratt will next appear on the big screen in "The Magnificent Seven," which lands in theaters on September 23. "Passengers" drops December 21 and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" hits cinemas on May 5, 2017.
